A photo project of some sort.

I have inspired my own self to start taking pictures more. Maybe everyday, but I'm not sure if I want to commit to that yet.. It seems like such a random time to start a photo project, but maybe it can be a fall season project. Not a month or year one. Regardless of what this will be, I will be posting pictures of the kids on the blog again. Its nice to have a place for the pictures. And I think I will make another photo book when this is all over.

Some things about the pictures:
Trying out a new hairstyle.
Eli is loving to wrestle and roll around and do flips. He just throws himself onto my lap and tries to flip over.
Audrey is loving painting with watercolors the last few days. This is her art gallery in her room.
Out at a coffee shop in West Seattle yesterday. Eating a brownie.

In our backyard.

I have really missed taking pictures on my camera lately. IPhone pics are great, but wow, these turned out so beautiful! We went out to our backyard late afternoon to watch Viktor mow the lawn, and as soon as I saw the sun start to get low in the sky I knew it would be a great time to take some pictures.
The autumn season always puts me in a thoughtful mood. Maybe its the chill in the air and the sweaters and blankets that start to fill our home. It makes me want to make a cup of coffee and grab a notebook and evaluate the last year of my life. And make goals and plans for the future. Im looking forward to this season.

Eli Part 2.

Just some more pictures I want to remember.

My little buddy named Eli.

This little buddy is almost 9 months old. He has 4 teeth, and is in the process of cutting another one. Which is making him very cranky and sad lately. Which makes me very sad too. He does find comfort in my arms though, and crawls to me at every chance he gets.
Putting him to sleep has been a bit difficult lately, he is only calm when I rock him and softly sing. Which is a bit of a set back from where we used to be, but I don't mind. To be honest, I was surprised how much I missed rocking him. To have him fuss and cry, and then just slowly surrender and melt in my arms. I find myself just holding and looking at him long after he falls asleep. I love him.

Some things he likes to do these days:
Cruises along the furniture.
Does a funny little dance whenever there is music playing.
Loves, LOVES to eat. Mostly chunky food. He is over the baby food, thinks he is too big for that stuff...
Grabs things all the time! I call him my little grabber. He just lunges at things out of the blue.
Loves to chase the cat.
Loves to get at the cat food.
Loves to play with Audrey. (Mostly mess up her toys..) :)

The kids.

Audrey is starting to play with Eli a little these days. He is still mostly a bother to her, breaking her block towers and crawling through her toys. And she whines to me and pushes him away and says, "No! Stop it!"
But every once in a while, she crawls around with him and mimics his baby noises and they laugh together.
And I wonder what it will be like when they are a little older. If they will happily play together, or be constantly fighting... Probably a little bit of both.

Evening stroll to the lake.

I like living within walking distance to a park. We have one about two blocks away, although the playground has been under construction for a few months now. We've been taking a walk to the park about once a week to check if the playground is finished, but no luck yet. So we end up sitting by the lake and watching the ducks swim by. A perfectly serene way to end the evening.

What we do at home.

7:30am. Rise and shine mama! We want milk! (why so early....??)
8:00am. All the toys are fresh and new in the morning, and super fun to play with. (for like 30 min..)
9:15am. While Eli takes his first nap, I tackle the pile of dishes from the night before. Audrey drinks a yogurt and plays an alphabet game on my phone. And she loves sitting on the counter and watching/helping me cook.
10:00am. Breakfast is made and Audrey refuses eggs but steals bites of my avocado toast. (Viktor eats cereal.)
11:00am. Cartoons and coloring before nap. Educational alphabet cartoons of course! (Duh..)
12:00pm. Eli takes his second nap of the day and I take a sneaky ninja mom picture.
12:15pm. Audrey drinks milk and requests books being read to her before taking a nap as well.
12:30pm. Ah... solitude. I try to be healthy and have a snack. While planning stuff in my tiny notebook.
1:00pm. Naps are too short these days with this guy. He is up again so I plop him down under the dangly toys. He stares in wonder while I watch some Chuck and do some meal planning. Soon he is bored and its belly time! The dangly toys become interesting again..
I was planning on making a post about what we do at home so that I could look back one day and remember them. Somehow I only got around to photographing half of the day, but Im going to post them anyways.
Im sure that the day turned out to be super productive and I did the laundry, sewed some clothes, made dinner, taught Audrey how to add and Eli how to crawl and took a bath. Because Im supermom like that...

*That last sentence was a big joke.
