The golden hour.

She loves that duck. And swinging on swings.

I took advantage of the sun rays and tried to take some interesting pictures. It was so cold that Alki beach was deserted. I have never seen it so empty before. But this playground had kids running around. I guess they are braver than the adults. :)

Also we are going to Hawaii on Friday for a vacation! My mom is watching Audrey for us, so its going to be a week of relaxing. Whenever i think of my baby girl being without me, it makes me so sad though.. And when i think of Kitsya at home by herself. :( (Im weird, i like my cat a lot too)

And Audrey is starting to say mama! She doesn't say it to me or anything, but just babbles ma ma ma sometimes.. I love to hear it and pretend that its just for me. ;)
Even though whenever Viktor asks her, "where's mama?" she looks around like she doesn't know what he's talking about...

Harvesting sunflowers.

Sometime in the late spring, we planted some sunflower seeds along our driveway. It has been great fun watching them sprout, and then grow taller and taller each week! A couple days ago Viktor decided its time to cut them down and harvest the seeds. We are looking forward to roasting them and mixing different seasonings. Im not a BIG fan of sunflower seeds, but the fact that they were homegrown makes me excited to eat them!

Two parties.

We had some good times with friends and family over the weekend. Two parties, back to back. I think Audrey is expecting more friends to come over tonight, so that will throw her off guard :)

She got to eat cake, twice. The second time ended in a tantrum with cake flying to the floor.

"Too much sugar!" she cried.

But it was so nice to have people over at our house. We live a little out of the way for everyone, so we assume that people dont want to drive over. But they probably love coming over!! (im optimistic) Also throwing a party forces one to clean the house, which is always good. :)

One.

Our little birthday girl turned one yesterday. We spent the day playing, and then went out to dinner to celebrate as a family. We have a little party planned for tomorrow for some friends, and one more on monday for family! Wow, its gonna be a busy couple of days :)

House hunting.

Viktor and I both love older homes. Homes with character, hardwood floors, and big windows. (i love windows that let in lots of light!) So we are really excited that we found a few in our area that are within our price range. Now we just need to figure out what we want to do from here. Our lease on our rental ends in January, but we dont want to miss out on one of these homes!! I hope everything works out and by January we are living in a place that we love.

Audrey and her friends.

This girl loves soft stuffed animals. The softer, the better! When she was about 7 or 8 months, i bought her a soft monkey because I wanted her to have "that special toy" that toddlers carry around and can't go to sleep without. I remember how excited I got one night after I peeked into her room and saw her hugging the monkey in her sleep. :)

Since then, there have been a progression of toys that were her favorite, but one that stuck is the yellow duck. (or ducky?) Its so sweet, whenever we are taking her out of the crib, she always points back to show that she wants to take the ducky too... I love babies and their favorite toys!

Tomatoes.

Confession: I don't think I was a good tomato grower this year. We planted them too late in the season, and most of them are pretty small. But even so, I love my little tiny tomatoes! (and some of them are grape tomatoes.. so there!) Yesterday I went and picked a lot of them, because it's getting really cold and I'm not sure if that is bad for them at this stage. (I know I could just google it to find out...)

So yeah, there's still some really green ones that I left in the garden, but I'll bring them in soon too. Also, i know i keep saying this, but growing things is so fun!!! Even if it doesn't always cooperate. :)

Kitsya, fries and a haircut!

*Kitsya cuddled up to Audrey's giant doggie, baked fries (easy to make and sooo good) and me and Audrey at a wedding. She likes to point now, its her new thing.

I decided that i needed a new look, so i got some bangs. I feel very different, but i love it. It feels perfect for fall and winter. Also we are thinking about buying a house soon! We have been looking at homes online for months now, but we finally scheduled to look at some on Sunday. Its so exciting! And a little scary.. I cant believe we are so grown up now. Getting married, having a child, and now this. Are we real adults now or something?? Wish us luck!

On my mind.

Ive been thinking about my days, and how i fill them. Time goes by so fast and i only get a few things done that are really important. A lot of my hours are spent on the internet.
So i made a list today, of my priorities in life. And i numbered them so that i could see which ones are really important and need to be at the top. Things like God, my family, reading, cooking, and taking care of my home and myself.
The one big thing that sucks all my time is the internet. Checking facebook and my email and reading blogs. And i want to take a break and get back to what is important.

Autumn is a very thought provoking season. And Im so happy God made it that way. If we never have time to reflect and ponder where our life is going, we will never make an effort to change. Viktor and I are closer than ever in this season, because we are making a real effort. Being open and really honest so that we can grow more and love more deeply.

I hope I can encourage you to take some time to think about your life as well and make any changes that need to happen. Here's to the season of change!
