Playing with Papa

I love to watch Audrey and her Papa play together. Everyone says that they look so much alike, and i love that they do. Our baby girl is growing up so much and so fast. I love her giggles and squeals and how she sound like a little baby dinosaur sometimes when she make this growling noise. We call her babysaurous.

I planted most of my vegetables into the garden already, but still need to plant a bit more. The rhubarb already looks wilted after the transfer and im not sure what went wrong... We might just have to buy another one to replace it. My windowsill plants are looking really good, im just waiting for it to get warmer before i transfer them. Oh also i realized that i really like plants and gardening. I didn't know it before, but it came to me when i planted some flowers in a pot outside and couldn't stop looking at them and smiling.

Today we went for a walk around West Seattle. We had a coupon to a coffee shop from the Chinook Book, and we also got some cupcakes. Then we just walked around a pretty neighborhood and looked at houses, daydreaming about what could be in our future... Life is dreamy sometimes. ;)

Portland Part 2

On Monday evening, some of my family went out for a walk along the Columbia river. The weather was nice and refreshing, and it was very pretty and peaceful. Audrey rode around in her stroller, and fell asleep on the car ride back to my sisters house. I love it when she does that :) It was a good couple days away from home.

We went down to Portland to visit my family on Sunday. My parents just got back to the US from being in Ukraine since November, so they were really excited to see Audrey. We spent some time outside in the backyard and it was so sunny and nice! I think Audrey enjoyed having so many hands hold her. :) On Monday my mom babysat while Viktor and i went downtown to just hang out by ourselves. IT WAS SO NICE.... just to relax and walk around. We checked out a couple of food carts and ate while sitting on a bench at the waterfront. Then we went to Powell's bookstore and had coffee and read books. After that there was a walk on 23rd street and some cake at Papa Hayden. Such a nice date. Thank you mom!!!

6 months old.

Audrey turned 6 months old on Thursday. She's so big!!!!!! We hung out on the porch today in our summer clothes because it was really warm.
This month she:
1. falls asleep on her own at night.
2. can sit up on her own with a little help.
3. sleeps with both of her arms unswaddled.
4. can suck on her toes.
5. got a rash. :(
6. started to wear sunglasses.

Chinook Book

Have you heard of the Chinook Book? Is a coupon book (or a phone app) for your region. Its kind of like Groupon, but i think much better. It has different categories like: grocery, dining, entertainment, home and garden, health, travel, and gifts. In order for a business to be considered for this book it needs to care about the how their products are made. The book costs $20 on their website, but i got mine at Costco for $12.49. The phone app (for Iphone and Android) is $10. Personally i like to look through the book and have coupons on hand. There is also a book for Portland, as well as some other cities. If you are into this sort of thing, check it out here.

Little itty bitty plants

The plants are alive!!!! From the top, i have grape tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes and basil. There have been some casualties in this growing battle, the cat jumped on the windowsill and knocked over the basil recently, so i had to carefully put the plants back in. And today, while i was inspecting the chives to see if any had sprouted, my hand suddenly dropped the whole pot into the sink and everything spilled out. So sad :( So i am going to plant them again today i think... But on a happy note, look at those tiny little sprouts! They are so cute! It brings me much excitement to look at them every morning and see them get bigger and bigger.

Store bought cheese vareniki w/ mango slices
Angel hair pasta w/carrots, bell peppers and tomato basil sauce. Crusty bread w/butter.
 Eggs, stuffed hashbrowns and vegetables.
Farfel w/chicken, peas and mushrooms. Salad w/broccoli, radishes, tomatoes and grated carrot.
Pork tenderloin w/plum sauce, mashed potatoes and roasted brussels sprouts.
Homemade pizza w/carrot sticks and celery
 Turkey sandwich w/baby bell peppers.
Hard boiled eggs w/salami sandwiches. Baby bell peppers w/grape tomatoes and strawberries w/raspberries.

These last few weeks have been a bit hard on my cooking because we have been training Audrey to fall asleep on her own. So i didnt have as much time to make interesting meals, just some easy peasy ones :) But good news! She is doing so good! I have also gave her an early bedtime so that me and Viktor can have some time to ourselves in the evening. And i finally started giving her a bedtime routine, which i should have started forever ago. It goes like this.

7:30 Bath time
7:45 Feeding and singing a song
7:50 Reading a story from her baby bible
8:00 Lay her down in the crib for bedtime

It has been working really good the last couple days, and we are so glad. :)

A wedding

Yesterday our friends Dan and Rita got married. It was a very sunny and sweet day and we enjoyed it very much. Somehow i didn't get any pictures of the bride and groom, but lots of Audrey. We seem to be very family (or self) centered... Also this weekend we have been doing lots of yard work and planning out the garden. Its all done and full of soil, now i just need to plant the seeds. Maybe tomorrow... Oh! Also i noticed tiny little baby plants sprouting in my starter pots! They're so cute!
