Me want some red meat!

We found out from the doctor that i have low iron, so i have been taking some iron pills these days. (i have this problem where i cant swallow pills though, i have to crush them and mix with water and drink... yuk. anyone else suffer from this?)
But anyways, i am also trying to add iron rich foods into my diet.

Here are the foods high in iron:
Red meat
Egg yolks
Dark, leafy greens (like spinach)
Dried fruit (prunes, raisins)
Iron enriched cereals and grains
Beans, lentils
Liver
Artichokes

We picked up an unwanted iron skillet from viktor's sister, so now anything we cook on there gets extra iron!
So my man and i decided to make steaks on it. I always see the pro cooks sear the meat on the skillet and then transfer it into the oven to finish off. And that is just what my husband did. I whipped up some mashed potatoes and green beans (from the farm) and we had a nice meal together. :)

and you know what people? Instead of going out for a fancy dinner, cook yourself some steak at home. Yeah, steak is a little expensive to buy, but considering what a good one costs at a restaurant, this is totally worth it.
Fancy restaurant dinner: at least $50 total for 2 people.
Home steak dinner: around $25 total for 2 people
*it varies with the meat you choose, but you can buy two decent steaks anywhere from $20-$30
