These days im a really big fan of Italian Antipasto at restaurants. Its an appetizer with a selection of cured meats, cheeses, olives, mushrooms, roasted peppers and garlic. Yum!
I have really been craving salty things lately. So last night on our way home from church (we slept in and went to an evening service in the U-District.) i desperately wanted to recreate something like an antipasto. So its like 10 pm and me and viktor stop by QFC. (open all night long apparently) We spent about an hour there!
My initial craving was actually some chicken liver pate like the one from Papa Hayden in Portland. But the whole store didn't have any pate at all. :( when i asked the lady working there, she made a disgusted face (why on earth would you want to eat chicken liver? is what she was thinking im sure...)
In the end, this is what we bought:
crusty bread, liver sausage, sharp cheddar cheese, garlic and herb spreadable cheese, pickles, mixed olives, sun dried tomatoes, Boysenberry juice and mineral water. (the loot cost us almost $40!) But can you really put a price on being pregnant...? :)
